The OptimizedWood project arose from the desire to create innovative products focused on sustainability and the optimum use of forest resources in areas that traditionally have a high environmental impact, such as construction.

- Development, mechanical and physical characterization and validation of wood products;
- Design, dimensioning and rehabilitation of wood structures;
- Glueing of wood products;
- Analysis of the life cycle of structures and computer programming.

The team of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria has experience in:
- Design, development, characterisation and practical benchmarking of electromagnetic barriers using wood with appropriate processing;
- Experimental evaluation of the electromagnetic performance of CLT structures;
- Chemical analysis of wood structures after carbonisation.
